Abstract :

MANET (Mobile Ad-hoc Network) is a type of wireless network without a static topology and set of self configuration organized nodes which are randomly, frequent and unpredictably mobile. In other words, ad hoc network do not rely on any fixed infrastructure. Each node is Responsible for routing the message form one node to the other like a router, causes network more vulnerable to the different attacks. Wormhole attack is one the most severe attack on routing protocols in which two or more malicious nodes receive packets at one point of network and transmit them another location by wired or wireless tunnel. The wormhole attack is possible if the attacker has negotiated any nodes of networks and even if authenticity and confidentiality provided over network. There are several wormhole detection and prevention techniques in mobile ad hoc network and some of them are reviewed in this paper.
