Abstract :

A dynamic analysis platform for generally analyzing sensitive behaviors in Android apps called ‘vetDroid’ is elaborated in this paper using permission base analysis. VetDroid proposes a systematic permission use analysis technique which shows how applications use permissions to access sensitive resources, and how these acquired permission-sensitive resources are further utilized by the application. Internal behaviors of apps can be easily examined by security analysts using permission behaviors. Using real-world Android malware, VetDroid can clearly reconstruct fine-grained malicious behaviors to ease malware analysis. VetDroid can assist in finding more information leaks than Taint Droid, a state-of-threat technique.
